Step by step guide: How to recover files from a CF card
The following guide is on
recovering files from a CF card. You can download
Photo Recovery software for Mac first and install it to your computer.
Run Disk Doctors Photo Recovery Software by double clicking icon from 'Applications' folder or from the location where the software has been installed. Program main window will be displayed as shown in the
Figure (a).

Select the drive from the drive(s) list, and click on "Next" button to proceed Or double click on the drive as shown in
figure (b).

As you click "Next" button, the program displays a window to select file types that you wish to recover. Shown in "
Figure (c)".

By default all the file types will be selected. Click on "Deselect all" button and select those photo file formats which you wish to recover and click on "Recover" button.
Application starts scanning your selected drive as shown in
figure (d). Please wait till the process is completed.

Please Note: Scanning time might take several seconds to few hours. Estimated scan time depends on selected media (Size, speed, physical condition)
As soon as the application completes the scanning process, the recovered data/file will be analysed and displayed in a well organized data tree as shown in
figure (e).

Please Note: You may preview the file by double clicking on the same or just click on "View" button.
You can now save the recovered media files in order to complete recovery process. Select the files you wish to save and click on save button.
Specify a safe location to initiate saving process. Shown in
figure (f).

Please Note: Never save data to the same location from which data is recovered. Saving the data to the same location would result in permanent data loss.
Please Note: In order to save your recovered data, you need to purchase and activate the full version. Saving option will not work in demo version.
Please Note: To avoid rescanning in full version, scan info could be saved by clicking on "Save Scan Info" button. The same can be opened in full version and initiate the saving process after "Software Activation" of full version.
Now, we have completed the process of Mac file recovery from a CF card with just several clicks. By the way, if you want to avoid lose the Mac files again, make sure back up successfully your files on other external hard drives.
